Good Design doing Good.

We are pleased to begin our support for Vida Verde a San Francisco organization dedicated to outdoor learning for inner city kids.

Vida Verde is a nonprofit that promotes educational equity by providing free, overnight, environmental learning experiences for students who don’t otherwise get the opportunity.

V.V. was born from the need to offer inner-city kids the opportunities and experiences that can ignite imagination, link classroom lessons to reality and boost self-confidence. These very experiences are birthrights of most children of the middle class. The majority of low-income students in the Bay Area have never walked in the redwoods, seen the beach, sung songs around the campfire and mostly have not been able to explore beyond their sometimes dangerous, impoverished neighborhoods.

Working with local artist David Polka, we produced two new PLYprints that were designed by David specifically for Vida Verde. One is called Redwoods and the other is called Tides, both depict two key aspects of the camp that is located south of San Francisco on the San Mateo coast. A portion of each sale goes to the camp to aid in their efforts to bring kids outdoors.
